Again this year, the quilt show will be held at the Opera House on Saturday, September 9, 9 a.m. -5 p.m. and on Sunday, September 10, 9 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. We invite all persons who enjoy sewing, creating quilts and other sewing projects to bring them Thursday, September 7, from 4-7 p.m. for registration to be part of the Marigold Days Quilt Show! Brittany (Wegwerth) Wilcox grew up in Byron with a brother and she played soccer when she attended Byron schools. She was very interested in art and she attended the University of Wisconsin at Stout for one semester.

A Byron man was arrested on August 19 at 6 p.m. after deputies responded to an assault call in the 8th Street NE neighborhood.
Through the investigation, it was determined that Lee Stellmaker, 51, of Byron, had used a kitchen knife to cut an acquaintance in her right bicep area. It was a 2-½ inch laceration.

   It’s hard to believe, but summer 2023 is winding down and it will not be long before the 2023-2024 school year gets underway. We know the school year is fast approaching as the fall sports teams officially began practicing this week.
The Minnesota State Fair begins its 12-day run next Thursday, ending on Labor Day.

 
   We recently received our notice of the annual Mantorville Fire Department benefit dance that will be held over Marigold Days. I’m sure folks served by the Kasson Fire Department received something similar for the Festival in the Park weekend, and no doubt other departments in the area hold similar fund-raising events.
