KM Telecom celebrated 125 years of business with a customer appreciation open house on June 25 at their business in Kasson.

No primary elections for local legislator races

Absentee voting is underway for the Aug. 11 state primary elections.
Dodge County and western Olmsted Counties will have the chance to vote in the primary election for statewide offices, along with U.S Representative for Congressional District 1 in person or by mail leading up Aug. 11.

Donald Ross Jones, 107, of Stillwater, Minn., formerly of Kasson, Minn., passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Good Samaritan Society in Stillwater, Minn.

I Was Thinking... Easy to Judge


Every generation has older people who remind younger people how easy they have it, compared to when they grew up. The elder set tells the youngsters how they had to walk to school in snow and it was probably uphill both ways.
My generation was told how our parents didn’t have TV or air conditioning, and had to share rooms with siblings. Their homes were heated with wood or coal, and the upstairs was never warm.

Years ago, there was a movie about the invisible man. You might hear him talk and see what happened when he moved something, but you could not see him.
Recently, I had a similar experience. No, I did not have a transparent being invade my domicile; I felt the wind.

BHS Student Council Winter Carnival set for March 7

The Byron High School annual Winter Carnival is set to take place this year on March 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The cost of $5 per child includes a hotdog, chips, and all the activities.
The event is set to take place at Byron High School.
