LaMerle Jean Kendall of Kasson,  passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Jennifer Boychuk, 68, of Hallock, passed away at Madonna Towers in Rochester, on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019.
Jennifer Jane Montgomery was born Nov. 5, 1950 in Madelia, to Robert and Darlene (Trullinger) Montgomery. She grew up in West Concord, and graduated from high school there in 1968. Jennifer attended cosmetology school in Mankato in 1969.
On June 19, 1971, she was united in marriage to Robert Boychuk at West Concord.

Linda D. Hutchinson, 70, passed away in Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, from cancer, after suffering this past year.
Linda was born in Bancroft, Iowa to the parents of Gerald and Mary Hutchinson on Aug. 19, 1948.

Richard Elton Sturgis, 76, died at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, St. Mary’s Campus on Feb. 28, 2019 from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Every town in southeast Minnesota is facing a budget crunch this year that could not have been planned for. Snow removal. Every town budgets for it but this winter those budgeted hours are being pushed to the limits.
And where to put the snow?
In Byron, City Administrator Mary Blair-Hoeft said city staff members worked 96 hours over the weekend of Feb. 23 when the blizzard hit. And city workers haven’t stopped since.  

Over the course of this winter, many blood drives across the region have been canceled, or have had low turnouts due to the weather.
The weather didn’t stop people from coming out in full force to donate blood in honor of the late Rita Buehler. In fact, hundreds of people came out to donate blood and to visit with people who knew Rita most.

In Minnesota, and across the country, when people think of any size town, they expect there to be at least one thing.
A post office.
Last week, in a press release the United States Postal Service, announced that the City of Claremont Post Office would have an emergency suspension of services, due to safety concerns.

 
Getting married on live tv is something that is special to say the least.
For Jennifer and Rob Ronnenberg, their relationship is exactly that.
In October of 2017, Jennifer got the surprise of her life when she was told that she would be getting new lungs that day after a long and painful battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
“It was the best moment of my life,” Jennifer said.
