Chaplain Program is huge success in Dodge County

Throughout his career with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Scott Rose always had an interest in bringing a Chaplain Program to Dodge County.
“It was something we realized we were missing here,” Rose said.
A year ago that dream became a reality in Dodge County. Ever since then, it has been a huge help for first responders and community members in Dodge County.

K-M’s Kennedy named PB Wrestler of the Year

Kasson-Mantorville wrestler Patrick Kennedy keeps rolling up the accolades.
Already a three-time state champion heading into his junior season — and two- time defending champion at 182 pounds — Kennedy has become a household name in high school wrestling circles. That attention extends beyond his hometown area as he was named the high school wrestler of the year by the Rochester Post-Bulletin.

FROM RECEPTIONIST TO OFFICER

If someone had told Mantorville native Wendy Forthun 20 years ago that she would be an officer for a real estate company, she wouldn’t have believed it. Now that’s exactly what as a receptionist,  and as she explained, she never thought that she would able to become a salesperson.

Running for a purpose

Over the past few years, the Kasson- Mantorville School District, has seen many improvements  to its facilities. One of the areas that hasn’t seen
improvements  is the playground at K-M Elementary School.
Because of this, the PTA has decided to dedicate funds from the Boosterthon Fun Run to the playground for the next two years.

Robert Duane Johnson, 84, Blooming Prairie

Robert was born on Jan. 14, 1935, in Freeborn County, to Ronald and Volberg (Anderson) Johnson. He attended Blooming Prairie High School. In 1955, Robert enlisted into the United States Army serving until his honorable discharge in 1957.

Crazy Sock Day to take place tomorrow at K-M

Across the country people will be celebrating World Down Syndrome Awareness Day, by wearing “crazy socks.”
For the second year, Kasson-Mantorville Schools will be celebrating this to help spread awareness for the disability, a disability that one of its students.

VIKINGS FALL IN SEMIS

One week ago, the Hayfield boys basketball team was on cloud nine. The Vikings were coming off an emotional high after getting a last-second win over Blooming Prairie thanks to a buzzer-beating  jump shot from Patrick Towey. That 50-48 victory would advance Hayfield to the Section 1A Semifinal, where they would come up with another tall task in top-seeded Spring Grove.
