Afew years ago, Kasson native Zachay Peterson graduated from K-M High School.
Now after winning an election bid for the K-M School Board last week, he will help lead the school district as a newly elected member of the board.
While Peterson was ultimately able to pull out a third place victory, with three open seats, watching the elections results was nerve racking.

Donna J. Ditlevson, age 83, of Blooming Prairie, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at Prairie Manor Care Center, Blooming Prairie.  
Donna June was born Aug. 19, 1935 in Ellendale to Oren and Catherine (Herron) Allen. She attended school at the Farr school house through 8th grade and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1953. 

In the world of education, often times those who help students every day don’t receive the recognition they deserve.
For Allison Ross, a paraprofessional for Triton School, her recognition that she deserves came after 27 years in education.

A few weeks ago Michele Swift, got some of the worst news imaginable when her husband, Tim found their beloved dog Sophie shot and killed at their home, in rural Claremont.
Last Thursday night, the same Deputy from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, that took the report the day of the tragedy, came to their home to deliver more news in regards to the incident.

Two Steele County football teams have moved onto state semifinals after wins Saturday afternoon.
The Blooming Prairie Blossoms rolled over United South Central 42-0 in Class 1A quarterfinals in New Ulm Saturday. Junior Gabe Hagen scored the game’s first points on an 80-yard catch from Kaden Thomas.

KM Elementary School Announced their Veterans Day Program today: 
Monday, Nov. 12 at 8:40 a.m. in the East Gym. 
All Veterans and community members are welcomed to attend. 
The program will be followed up with a Heroes Parade inside the school for all Vets.
 

Over 20 years ago Triton Superintendent Brett Joyce began with the Triton School District.
On Thursday in a memo to staff he announced that he will be retiring at the end of the school  year.
The memo came after he contacted each school board individually and told them that he would be putting his letter of resignation in, effective for the end of the school year.

Over the summer, K-M alum Braxton Raymond was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. During times such as the one that Raymond is going through, it’s always nice to know that a family is there to have your back.
 

When the Head family arrived to the Mantorville Saloon on Saturday for a Benefit in honor of Colby Head, who passed away from a sudden heart attack on July 1, they didn’t know what to expect.
After the benefit Krissy Head, the wife of Colby simply said it was amazing.
“It was pretty amazing,” she said, “We knew the community was great but just to see how much support we have, we were taken back by it,” she added.
