When Josh Tetzlaff was getting his undergraduate degree in Business Administration -Economics, from South Dakota University, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do after college.
 
“Getting into city government was an accident,” he said.
 

The City of Dodge Center approved a contract last night which will make Josh Tetzlaff there new City Administrator pending his signature and acceptance of the contract.
 
Tetzlaff  is currently pursuing Master’s of Public Administration at UND, currently serving as senior planner for City of Brighton, Colorado.
 

Funeral Services for William F. Angell, age 95, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church, rural Austin. The Rev. Lindsay Brennan will officiate.  Interment will be in Red Oak Grove Lutheran Cemetery. Honor Guard Services will be provided by the Blooming Prairie Service Mens Club. 

Theresa Kasper, formerly of Ellendale, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family on Nov. 13, 2018 at the age of 91 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. 
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newry Township, rural Geneva with Father Thomas Niehaus officiating. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newry Township.

The Oeltjenbruns family of rural Claremont is  certainly counting its blessings this Thanksgiving holiday. Mark and Jessica are able to enjoy their two young children, Alexis and Isaac, after a scare that nearly ended their lives.
Much of their story is shared in a front page story in this week’s edition. However, there are a few inspiring details that I wanted to relate through my column.

The annual Kasson Area Carend Share Auction and Fundraiser was once again this year, taking place last week.
During the annual fundraiser over $26,000 in proceeds were raised.
Mark Matuska, one of the co chairs for the event this year, said that he is once again
pleased with the support that came out from the community.

When I moved to Minnesota last year I knew things were going to be a lot different, than where I grew up.
That was exactly the case in so many ways.
One of the things that is a lot different than where I grew up is the holiday of Thanksgiving.
For example one of the biggest things I found out is that
Thanksgiving Day or Eve isn’t dedicated to high school football.

The theme for the 2018 Souteast Areea  Fall Meeting was “Row Your Way to Success.”

For many years the Triton
FFA has helped the local com- munity through purchasing food for the Dodge County Food Shelf.
That was the case again this year as the group was able to purchase 1,144 pounds of food from Sunshine Foods recently.
Every year the FFA Chapter uses $1,000 from funds raised during its annual corn drive to purchase food for the food shelf from the local grocery store.
