Last week 47 children in the community dedicated a week of learning and rehearsing as they got ready for performances of the ‘Christmas Carol’ which was performed last Friday and Saturday.
The production began last Monday with auditions for each part, with at least one role being guaranteed to everyone who tried out.

S.E.M.C.A.C. showed their appreciation for drivers for Meals On Wheels and a Team of volunteers who serve at the KASSON SENIOR DINING at Sunwood Apts recently.

A few years ago a community Christmas Tree was put up and decorated at Veterans Park in Kasson.
While the tree was put up and decorated by a group, there was no celebration for it.
Last week that wasn’t the case as the Kasson Park Board hosted the first annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.

 
Last year KMES 4 graders, Diamond Pollard and Sydney  Swanson saw that a group of people were helping to pick up trash and thought, wouldn’t it be great to do a community service project to help the community.
 
From there they brainstormed and thought that it would be a good idea to have a toy drive.
 

Every year different communities across Dodge County celebrate Christmas by having celebrations in their towns.
That is the case this year once again as local communities are gearing up for their different events.

This winter the Dodge Center Public Library is stepping outside of the bounds of typical library items. Patrons will literally be able to step outside on eight pairs of snowshoes. The library has acquired four pairs of adult sized snowshoes and four pairs of youth sized snowshoes through a grant from the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP).

 Michael James McIntosh, 56, was charged on Thursday, in Dodge County, with one count of Terroristic Threats- Cause or Attempt to Cause Terror.  
According to the complaint filed in Dodge County District Court, on Nov. 27, Sgt. Peck received a report from dispatch regarding a 911 hang-up and was asked to respond. 

On Nov. 20 Triton AG Education Teacher and FFA Advisor Robert Ickler had a surprise of a lifetime when he was presented with the KIMT Golden Apple Award.
 
“It was quite a surprise,” Ickler said.
 
The award is given to one teacher each week in the viewing area and is selected based on nominations.
