A guy from Byron called in a week ago last Friday. He left a message that he would like to see a variety of opinion on the opinion page. Apparently, the opinions and political cartoons are a bit too conservative for him.

Rev. Kenneth Morgan Rogers, age 86, of Rochester, died on May 3, 2021 at Season’s Hospice House in Rochester.
Kenneth was born to parents Gilbert and Hazel (Martin) Rogers in Zumbro Falls.
Kenneth grew up in Kasson  and moved to Wells, where he graduated high school in 1952. He attended Dunwoody Institute, Texas Weslyan College, and Garrett Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.

Marilynn Elaine Holtan, 95, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on April 27, 2021, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Marilynn was born the daughter of John and Anna (Brewer) Hogle in Dodge County on June 27, 1925. She attended Mantorville Schools.

The Byron Girls Track Team is back after their two week shut down and the girls did not miss a beat. The girls won the triangular meet scoring 153.5 points. Stewartville finished second with 83.5 and Triton finished third with 19.

Last week saw mixed results for the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets as they started off by defeating the Triton Cobras on Tuesday but then lost to Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Thursday and Winona on Saturday.
Monday they headed to Rochester where they dropped the first game of this week to the Rochester Lourdes Eagles by a 10-1 score.

Larry and Lana Berghuis have lived in Mantorville since 1998.
Larry was the second youngest of 10 children growing up in Clara City, about 20 miles southest of Willmar, while Lana had two sisters and grew up in Circle Pines. After high school Larry attended St. Cloud State and met Lana on a blind date while they were in school. Lana thought maybe it was Larry’s car that had an added attraction.
