It’s finally summer!
These next couple months are a great time to relax and enjoy the great weather.
Once you’re relaxed, it’s important to remember that fun summer adventures are available. All you have to do is look for them.
My advice is, don’t wait until August to start your summer adventure
The great thing about southern Minnesota is that you don’t have to travel far to find interesting places and events.

Vicky Heitman is throwing this out there: Who’s interested in having a farmers’ market at her place of business, Prairie Meadows Senior Living Community?
Heitman, the Kasson facility’s marketing director, has a vision of “Produce on the Prairie,” featuring produce, pastries, cookies, crafts, jewelry and hand-made items, and she’s gauging community and vendor interest.

Becker – For the Blooming Prairie boys golf team, senior Tommy Braaten has been the catalyst all season long.
During Day 1 action of the Class A state tournament, Braaten was simply on another level.

A pirate’s life is for everyone again. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales shows there’s some waters still worth exploring in this fifth installment of the franchise.
The plot follows the continued adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, as he’s joined by the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan. They’re on a quest for the trident of Poseidon, an object that commands the sea and can break any curse.

St. Paul – After suffering a cervical sprain from a car accident before the start of the season, Blooming Prairie High School junior Samantha Wurst didn’t even think she would be able to compete in the high jump this season.
Not only did she compete, but she soared.

St. Paul – In the lone final event that took place on the scorching track Friday afternoon, Owatonna senior Braydon Kubat found himself in a fast field and simply couldn’t get loose.
After being last for much of the final 100 meters in Friday’s 3200—meter run, the Owatonna senior made one last push to catch and ultimately pass Edina’s Zachary Miller to finish 15th in his first trip to the state tournament.

St. Paul – Heading into Friday’s triple jump at the 2017 Class AA Minnesota State Track and Field meet, Owatonna junior Dalton Kubista knew that if he stuck to his routine, there was a good chance that he would land on the podium.
Despite temperatures reached the upper 80s, there were no distractions for Kubista. In fact, he noted that he likes it hot.

For Luke Johnston, every day is about embracing the challenge that life presents in front of you with an open mind.
Despite having a tragic life event that would nearly kill the competitive drive of most, he has continued to show up to practice and work for nearly the last three years at the shot put and discus for the Medford High School track and field team.

Step aside, boys, a new hero’s arrived to save the summer. Wonder Woman is as invincible as the heroine herself.
