Motorists on eastbound Highway 14 west of Kasson will encounter a lane closure beginning Monday morning while crews repair concrete pavement.
MnDOT maintenance workers will be repairing the concrete roadway in the eastbound right lane of Hwy 14. That lane will be closed near mile marker 197 for approximately one week. If the work is completed sooner, the lane will reopen at that time. 

Minnesota Lake – After being dealt a 10-0 thumping by Kenyon-Wanamingo on Tuesday, the Medford High School baseball team was on the verge of elimination after falling into an early 3-0 deficit to Maple River on Thursday.
Then Willie VonRuden started to find his rhythm and seemed to jolt some life into the Tigers.

Rochester - In their first matchup this season, Rochester Mayo High School made quick work of the Owatonna baseball team, cruising to a 12-0 win in four innings at Dartts Park in Owatonna.
Saturday, Mayo served as host for the opening round of the Section 1AAAA tournament and Owatonna had senior Kodey Kiel on the mound.
That didn’t seem to even faze the Spartans.

Farmington – What a difference two weeks can make.
Just three games removed from an 8-3 loss at the hands of Farmington High School on May 12, the Owatonna girls softball team was in the thick of the battle for much of the contest.
However, the fifth-ranked team in the state proved why they were awarded the No.2 seed in the Section 1-AAAA tournament.

One of America’s best principals is coming back to the Owatonna School District as the second in command.
Michelle Krell of Blooming Prairie will begin July 1 as the director of teaching and learning for Owatonna Schools. She looks at her new job as being the “assistant superintendent,” though it’s not officially called that.

For Owatonna junior Mitch Wiese, playing sports has been a way of life. 
At four years old, he put on a pair of ice skates for the first time.
By the third grade, he was playing youth football.
And by the time he was in the seventh grade, after years of playing baseball, he was playing lacrosse. 

After a comeback win over Faribault on Tuesday, the Owatonna baseball team returned to Chuck Fuller Field in Dartts Park to host Northfield in a Big Nine Conference doubleheader.
Thursday night also happened to be Senior Night, where the Huskies were to recognize the future graduates on all their contributions to the program over the years.
In game one, there was one senior that decided to make it just a bit more memorable.
