Perhaps it’s just as well that I live in the country: it’s been said that I snore like a wild animal.

Dodge Center’s street reconstruction project is in full swing.
Work began in mid-June on the project, expected to cost just less than $3.5 million. The contractor is BCM Grading- Excavating of Faribault. 
Work scheduled for this year should be finished in the fall, City Administrator Lee Mattson said. A top layer of asphalt will be added in 2018.

Teaching history is important for members of the Dodge County Historical Society, especially the history that had a big impact on their county - including World War I.
They’re honoring this era, as 2017 marks 100 years since America entered the “War to End All Wars.”
The Mantorville-based Society has accumulated a World War I exhibit, featuring machine guns, and uniforms and gear worn by soldiers from the county.

This past weekend was one of the most special times of the year. Father’s Day always proves to be extra special for me as I’m sure it does for countless other dads out there.
Though my kids gave me a wonderful family portrait canvas of my daughter graduating from college, the best gift was being together with all three of them. Family time with all of us becomes harder to achieve as time goes on.

I am ready to ditch my new best friend.
 
Maybe it’s ‘buyer’s remorse,’ but this new smart phone is confusing and infuriating. Boxes are constantly popping up, and the tiny keyboard is apparently meant for use by ants, or amoeba.

That’s because America’s Got Talent (AGT) returned to NBC for its 12th season.
 
I think one of the main reasons so many people enjoy that show is because we see people pursuing their dreams and rising to the occasion.
 

Throughout the course of his senior season, Kasson- Mantorville baseball player Brendan Knoll has been a leader on and off the field. 
 
As a four-year starter, he’s been able to help some of the younger players adapt to playing baseball at the varsity level while backing his experience up by becoming one of the top pitchers and outfielders in the state.
 

Former Kasson-Mantorville wrestler Noah Ryan helped the Minnesota Blue team win the Freestyle championship at the Junior National Duals in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 24. The recently graduated senior joined a star-studded lineup that included several other elite wrestlers from around the state.
