The Triton track and field team had a great day at the HVL Championship Meet in Stewartville on May 13 as eight members claimed all-conference status during the event. Support is key for mental health awareness

Years ago my friend Jim and I agreed to meet for a workout.
I didn’t make it there. Slept in or something. And I never saw Jim again, because a couple days later he took his life.
I felt terrible. But there were, of course, undercurrents in his life that few if any of us knew about.
Couldn’t believe it when I saw the obituary in our paper. Oh, no. Not our dear, sweet, kind, smiley, funny, super-intelligent Jim.

The kids are in place, the photographer is ready to push the button, and …
… and a little girl comes out of nowhere and pops into the center of the frame.
“Photo bomb!” Srp shouts.
The Kasson woman, surrounded by about seven wee little ones, clearly loves to have fun. As do her tiny clients at Sarah’s Day Care.

Supreme Court asked to study feedlot issue

The ongoing feedlot issue in Dodge County that appeared to be sent out to pasture after years of court battles is not over, after all.
Lowell and Evelyn Trom of Westfield Township filed a petition with the Minnesota Supreme Court Tuesday afternoon asking the state’s highest court to review the feedlot controversy that has been swirling in southern Dodge County since 2014.

Remembering Fallen Heroes

For the first time since his death in 1999, Minnesota and the rest of the nation are honoring a fallen Hayfield police chief.
On Monday night, the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association remembered Douglas Claassen at a ceremony at the Peace Officer’s Memorial in front of the State Capitol in St. Paul. Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose placed a wreath in honor of Claassen during the ceremony.
