With Byron’s Rylie McRoberts and Hayfield’s Maryx Young already achieving 1,000 career set assists this season, Dodge County is becoming known for its setters and Triton’s Chelsea Lasker recently strengthened that reputation by also reaching that prestigious milestone.

When Mitchel Petersen’s parents drop him off at college next fall, the phrase ‘Bye son,’ will have two meanings. The first meaning is the usual goodbye, but they will also be saying his new title as he recently committed to being a Bison, the North Dakota State (NDSU) mascot.
            While that’s a spin-off of a common joke, there’s nothing funny about Petersen’s wrestling ability.

In their first year playing against bigger schools, the Kasson-Mantorville football team was just one win away from advancing to the state tournament, but their opponent, the Winona Winhawks, were simply too good as they beat K-M 40-21 in the section championship game.

Triton Elementary School invites all veterans, their families and friends to come to the Veteran’s Day program next Monday, Nov. 11.
This year’s program will begin at 9 a.m. in the Triton High School gym, said Kindergarten teacher Katie Macrafic.
Triton Boy Scouts will post the colors and the Triton High School band will perform at the beginning of the program.

At last Saturday’s state cross country meet, Isaac Threinen crossed two finish lines. One was the finish line for the state meet, and the other was the finish line of his high school cross-country career, but before the latter happened, he had one more record to break: his own.
            With the rest of his cross-country team cheering him on, he beat his 98th place finish at last fall’s state meet by placing 96th this year.

There is a new club meeting at the Dodge Center Public Library and they are all about knitting. And now they are knitting for a cause.
While the group normally does their knitting on Thursday afternoons, they were at the library on a Saturday earlier this month in observance of “I Love Yarn Day.”

It was just over a year ago that the Claremont American Legion broke ground for its Veterans Memorial.
A dedication of the memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11. The memorial is located on Front Street in downtown Claremont.
The memorial is complete, said Mike Berg, commander of Claremont’s American Legion Post 422, with the exception of adding the names to the pavers.
