Early morning fire engulfs Dodge Center home

At approximately 1:31 a.m. on Tuesday morning Dodge County Dispatch started receiving calls reporting a house on fire in Dodge Center, according to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose.

Staffing changes announced at Sheriff’s Office

There have been a number of staffing changes at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Ryer Anderson, a former Patrol Captain for the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, has been promoted to Chief Deputy to replace Mike Leonhardt who retired this month after 34 years of service.   Anderson graduated from Mankato State University in 2002 and was hired by Sheriff Gary Thompson as a full-time patrol deputy in 2003. 

Byron schools require masks beginning Jan. 18

All staff and students at Byron schools will need to wear masks when on school property beginning Tuesday, January 18.
The district updates the COVID-19 numbers dashboard every Thursday, said Supt. Mike Neubeck.
“School districts and counties across the state have seen a significant increase in positive cases and Byron School District is no different,” Neubeck said in an email to parents.

BREAKING NEWS: Monday evening crash injures 3, 1 with life threatening injuries

Three people were injured, one with life-threatening injuries, in a two-vehicle head-on crash Monday night in Canisteo Township.
At approximately 5:25 p.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a head-on crash on 250th Ave (County Road 13) at approximately 685th Street in Canisteo Township involving two vehicles, according to Sheriff Scott Rose.
