OpenGov now available online in Owatonna

The initial implementation of a new financial software solution is helping Owatonna answer the need to provide additional online services for residents, business owners and others who conduct financial transactions with the city.
On May 24, the city launched a list of services that are now fully available online at Owatonna.gov.

LTO takes on touching WWII drama

Director Shelley Fitzgerald said she was asked in 2020 to direct an LTO drama, but COVID-19 sidelined live theater for two years. The show jumped out at her because of the setting.

Seal coating underway around Steele County

Road crews began seal coating several highways throughout Steele County on Monday.
They include:
• CSAH 6 (US 14 to US 218) in Owatonna and Aurora townships
• CSAH 9 (CSAH 23 to CSAH 45) in the City of Owatonna and Clinton Falls Township
• CSAH 9 (CSAH 34 to CSAH 8) in Clinton Falls and Merton townships
• CSAH 12 (CSAH 17 to CSAH 23) in Deerfield and Medford townships

Comprehensive advocacy training course, Partners in Policymaking, is now taking applications from Minnesotans with disabilities and parents of young children with developmental disabilities.
There is no cost for this program.

Geocaching marks 20th year with statewide events

Think of it as an outdoor treasure hunt, with the help of a GPS.
Geocaching is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and the Minnesota Geocaching Association (MGA) is throwing a party. Seven parties, to be exact.
“We decided this year to really celebrate it, and celebrate Minnesota,” said Christine Traxler, a member of the group.
