Breaking News: Kasson man charged with Terroristic Threats
Michael James McIntosh, 56, was charged on Thursday, in Dodge County, with one count of Terroristic Threats- Cause or Attempt to Cause Terror.
According to the complaint filed in Dodge County District Court, on Nov. 27, Sgt. Peck received a report from dispatch regarding a 911 hang-up and was asked to respond.
Upon arrival, Sgt. Peck was met a witness who was crying and upset. She stated that she believed McIntosh left the residence with a kitchen knife and was on his way to the Hubble House to kill the victim. The witness stated that McIntosh was recently fired from the Hubble House and denied unemployment benefits and believes that the victim is to blame.
The witness showed Sgt. Peck a letter that McIntosh wrote before leaving the residence, the complaint stated. The letter, according to the complaint, was addressed to the “Police” and signed by McIntosh. The contents of the letter were venting about the victim. According to the complaint, McIntosh often referred to the victim as this (expletive) and ended the letter with “this evil (expletive) has to go before she hurts anyone else.”
The complaint goes onto say that, while Sgt. Peck and the witness were speaking, McIntosh called the witness’ phone.
The witness informed McIntosh that the police were waiting for him, wherein McIntosh returned to his residence and detained.
While en route to the station, McIntosh referred to the victim as different expletives and made several comments about what he wanted to do to the Victim, including punching her in the face and “kill” her. McIntosh stated, “I did not threaten her, I threatened to do something to her.”
McIntosh was transported to the Steele County Jail where he is currently being held, according to Jail Records.
Court records show that bail was set for McIntosh in the amount of $50,000.
If convicted McIntosh can face up to five years in prison and or a fine of $10,000.
