In 2013, officials in the Third Judicial District like Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem began talking about creating a veterans court.
In March that dream finally became a reality when the first hearing of the veteran’s court pilot program was held.

John Dean Bernard Olson, age 92 of Blooming Prairie, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.
John Dean was born April 12, 1927, to John Alfred and Helma (Siblerud) Olson of Hartland. He graduated from Freeborn High School in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April of 1945. He was discharged with an honorable discharge in August of 1946.

Roger Lee Dulas, age 88, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at his home in rural Ellendale.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1930, in Wells. His parents were Julius and Hedwig (Goraczkowski) Dulas. Roger attended country school in rural Wells until the 8th grade. After school, he worked on the family farm with his father.

This past weekend my family celebrated a remarkable accomplishment that doesn’t happen nearly as often as it should. Many couples simply don’t get the opportunity for various reasons. 

The same year I was born the movie Toy Story came out.
That’s why it was so fitting that 24 years later I celebrated my birthday by seeing Toy Story 4 on Saturday.
The Toy Story movies have always been my favorite movies, and ever since I was little I was always excited to watch it and was especially excited to see the new ones in theaters.

The Rev. Dr. Elsa Patt was born on Oct. 7th 1931 in Erndtebrück Germany to Wilhelm and Elisabeth Patt.  She was the oldest of four children and helped to care for her younger siblings during WWII as her father served in the German army.  In her early childhood she fell in love with Jesus and his church and found comfort in them through the ravages of war.

Contest activities get under way on Wednesday, July 17, with a milking cow competition scheduled for 3 p.m.
