Release of Dodge County Wind draft EIS delayed to July 29

Dodge County residents will have to wait another month before they know which of the proposed  routes for an electrical transmission line stretching from Steele County to Olmsted County will receive further consideration.

In 2013, officials in the Third Judicial District like Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem began talking about creating a veterans court.
In March that dream finally became a reality when the first hearing of the veteran’s court pilot program was held.

With an abundance of perception, every season this year, there were major headaches for those in the area last Friday, after towns in Dodge County were hit with as much as close to eight inches of rain. 
One of the main things that was impacted for the traditional Mantorville Stagecoach Days being canceled this year. 

John Dean Bernard Olson, 92, Blooming Prairie

John Dean Bernard Olson, age 92 of Blooming Prairie, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.
John Dean was born April 12, 1927, to John Alfred and Helma (Siblerud) Olson of Hartland. He graduated from Freeborn High School in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April of 1945. He was discharged with an honorable discharge in August of 1946.

Roger L. Dulas, 88, Ellendale

Roger Lee Dulas, age 88, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at his home in rural Ellendale.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1930, in Wells. His parents were Julius and Hedwig (Goraczkowski) Dulas. Roger attended country school in rural Wells until the 8th grade. After school, he worked on the family farm with his father.

Love 60 years in the making

Rev. Dr. Elsa Patt, 88, Kasson

The Rev. Dr. Elsa Patt was born on Oct. 7th 1931 in Erndtebrück Germany to Wilhelm and Elisabeth Patt.  She was the oldest of four children and helped to care for her younger siblings during WWII as her father served in the German army.  In her early childhood she fell in love with Jesus and his church and found comfort in them through the ravages of war.

There is a contest for everyone at the fair

Milking cows. Baking pies. A new hotdish. Eating. Hula hoops. Quilt blocks.
Whatever you like to do, there is probably a contest related to it at the Dodge County Fair.
Contest activities get under way on Wednesday, July 17, with a milking cow competition scheduled for 3 p.m.
