Jeppe Bremer, 88 of Blooming Prairie, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, surrounded by his family at Ecumen Countryside, Owatonna. 
He was born Aug. 21, 1927, in Ypsilanti, North Dakota, the son of Henry and Sadie (Dykstra) Bremer. Jeppe grew up and attended school in North Dakota, moving to Minnesota in 1975. He served his country in the U.S. Army late in World War II. 

Irma ‘Peggy’ Wradislavsky, 74 of Blooming Prairie, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. 
She was born April 16, 1941, in Poland, the daughter of Ludwig and Berta Fibich. During World War II, Irma moved with her family to Germany, where she attended school and later worked as a cocktail waitress. 

Government officials, business representatives and many that had a hand in the project gathered to celebrate the completion of the 2.5-mile four-lane expansion of U.S. Highway 14 between Owatonna and Dodge Center. 

Preparation for the upcoming Kasson-Mantorville Middle School musical is in full swing. This musical is particularly special because it marks the last time it will be on the high school gym stage. 
The brand new high school auditorium, which is expected to be completed by the 2016-17 school year, will eliminate one of the musical’s main challenges, scheduling conflicts with other sports and events. 

Kasson-Mantorville SADD members teamed up last week to paint “buckle up” on the school parking lots with one hope in mind, to save lives. 
SADD, or Students Against Destructive Decisions, aims to “provide students with the best prevention tools to deal with underage drinking, drug use, impaired driving and other risky things that they might do at this age,” said SADD advisor Cori Ronnenberg. 

Mary Jane, also know as MJ, hopes to eventually put herself out of a job. 
“I am trying to put myself out of a job basically. I don’t want people to have to live through domestic violence,” MJ said. “It doesn’t just affect the victim and the person that is doing the abusing, it affects the whole family.” 

For years, the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets have been trying to get over the hump and claim a HVL conference championship. For about the same time, they’ve butted heads with the Lourdes Eagles for that title. It only made sense that Tuesday night’s match-up between the two schools would have the title on the line.

The Kasson-Mantorville football team is beginning to get healthy at the right time. With injuries to several key players, the KoMets have had to rely on a new wave of players while trying to install a new offense. As a result, K-M had limped to a 2-5 record heading into Friday night’s game with Lake City, but had shown flashes of getting things turned around in time for the playoffs.

Fall is a busy time for many recognition weeks of various groups and organizations. There is Clergy Appreciation Month, Newspaper Week, Fire Prevention Week, Manufacturer’s Week, Education Week and the list goes on.
But there is one that is especially meaningful to me and many youth around the country. It’s National 4-H Week, which was celebrated last week.
