BREAKING NEWS: Dodge Center man dies from winter storm crash

Robert Mast, age 51 of Dodge Center, passed away after he collided with a car head-on in Byron Wednesday afternoon.
Mast was driving west on County Road 34 just before 4p.m. when he went to pass another vehicle on the road. He ended up colliding head-on with a truck going east on that road, according to Olmstead County Sheriff's office.

NRHEG teams both win

Both New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva (NRHEG) basketball teams had good nights against Medford on Friday, Dec. 18.
 The girls kept their record clean at 5-0 with a 58-51 victory over the Tigers on the home court, while the boys defeated the hosts 66-38, with a big second half.

Dennis Repp, 55, Osakis

Dennis Repp, age 55 of Osakis, passed into his new life on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, from the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.

Christy Olsen, 87, Blooming Prairie

Christy Junior Olsen, 87, preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Nina Olsen; brothers William (Bill), Garel (Dutch) and Gale Leek; and sister Martha Luedtke.

Jens Andersen, 72, Blooming Prairie

Jens Arthur Andersen, 72 of Blooming Prairie, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Albert Lea. 
He was born July 14, 1943, in Albert Lea, the son of Arthur and Crystal (Young) Andersen. A lifelong Blooming Prairie resident and 1961 graduate of Blooming Prairie High School, Jens made his living as a farmer. Farmers Elevator employed him for 14 years, retiring in 2006. 

Earl Raymond Kinley III, 55, Eagan

Earl Raymond Kinley III, age 55, of Eagan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at United Hospital in St. Paul on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015. Earl struggled with his health for many years and is now pain free and with the Lord.

The tragic loss of a teenager in a violent single-vehicle rollover Friday afternoon in northeastern Dodge County has put the Dodge Center community as well as the rest of the county into a state of mourning this holiday season.

Wildcats pick up their first pair of victories

Throughout the first six games of the season, the Dodge County Wildcats had been improving, but were still looking for their first victory. However, since their opening game against St. Paul Como Park that slipped away in overtime, they had been making strides.
