U.S. Marshals: ‘We will find her’

Finding violent offenders on the run is the sole job of the U.S. Marshal Service, the agency tasked with assisting in the search of a Blooming Prairie murder suspect.

K-M student wears family heirloom to Prom

Analisa Buresh was hoping to shop for a Prom dress earlier this year when her grandmother, Judy Kinsey, suggested she try on a certain strapless red dress.
There was something about it. Lots of history. And a bit of magic, perhaps.
“I was skeptical,” said Analisa, a junior at Kasson-Mantorville High School. “I expected it to not look as modern. I did not expect to love it so much.”

Waiting for Spring

Easter has never played a significant part in my life, as it is a religious-centered holiday, and well, I don't come from a fairly religious family. At least my parents, my siblings, and I aren't.
That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy candy, or pastel colors, or the transition into spring, though. I’m just not one to acknowledge the church service … or the actual meaning behind the holiday.

Spring into Action

Spring is on the horizon (even though it may not feel like it)!
As the Earth awakens and I start to see grass and other signs of life, I’m reminded of the old saying, “Stop and smell the roses.” For a refresher, this means we should take the time to soak in the world around us.

Happy birthday, Shorty

I think the deal was, I was the 3-year-old king of our house. Was the youngest of five and as the attention all to myself. Photos show me next to my big brother, smiling like a champ.
Then they brought Bob home.
Immediate competition.
And for the next several years we fought and scratched and clawed, more than any brothers I’ve known.

I Can Only Imagine

There are times when I love to see conflict and hardcore drama in movies, but one movie offering right now at theatres offers something a bit different. It provides an inspirational uplift and hope.
The movie is “I Can Only Imagine,” and it shares the story of a popular Christian band, MercyMe, which by the way will be performing in the Twin Cities next week.

Local lifters compete at National meet

Three local lifters competed at the USAPL High School National Powerlifting Meet as Ben Roussopoulos of Dodge Center, Alex McElmury of Kasson and Trenton Kruger of Kasson all hit the stage to show their improvement throughout the year.
