Every year, one undergraduate, from colleges and universities across Minnesota is honored as the top psychology student.
This year, Kristen Eggler, a 2015 graduate from Hayfield High school, received the honor.
The Gustavus Adolphus College senior honors psychological science major, was recently named the 2019 winner of the Donald G. Paterson Award in Psychology by the Minnesota Psychological Association.

Growing up I always wondered what it was like to be an editor of a newspaper.
I used to sling papers for my local newspaper, the Warwick Beacon, and I always wondered how the paper was put together.
After graduation, I entered the world of journalism, something that I never expected and without any formal training, I was thrown into the fire as an editor 2,000 miles away from home.

A few years ago, a tragedy occurred in Dodge County when Capt. Loring Guenther passed away from a sudden heart attack.
After seeing how well the funeral was run and the amount of support that was given to his family from the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Association, Sheriff Scott Rose knew he wanted to be involved with the organization.
And he did just that.

The Triton track and field team opened their 2019 season by getting a head start on their competition as they headed to Winona for the Lewiston-Altura Early Bird Invitational on Mar. 25. The meet featured eight teams from Southeastern Minnesota as well as La Crosse Aquinas and La Crosse Logan and despite the field, the Cobras were able to stand out.

Triton fourth graders showed off their science investigation skills last week at the Triton Elementary School Science Fair.
The projects were displayed in the gym during the school day with teams of judges from the community meeting with each student for an explanation of the project and how the student went about investigating it.

Throughout his life Nate Bailey, of Dodge Center, has ran long distances.
Soon though, Bailey will have his longest race and run of his life, as he gets set to run in a 200-mile race this weekend in Illinois.
Aside from doing something that not many people can say they have done, Bailey will also be helping to raise money for Next Chapter Ministries in Rochester.

Mantorville Theatre Company (MTC) is servin' it up again at the historic Mantorville Opera House with the sequel Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping! The musical runs April 5 – 28, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There will be no show Easter Sunday, April 21.

There will be visible changes next fall when the 2019-20 school year opens at Triton.

Parking spaces were virtually non-existent Saturday morning as Dodge County residents came to the 21st annual Dodge County Expo.
The yearly event gives local businesses and organizations a chance to meet with residents and show what they have to offer. There is also plenty of food and free entertainment to be enjoyed.
