Jose Herrera, owner of Plaza Morena Campestre Grill restaurants in Owatonna and Albert Lea, said he hopes to open a third restaurant/bar in the former Dairy Queen building in Dodge Center.
 
He was awaiting a liquor license and hopes to purchase the building from Minneapolis-based Dairy Queen this week.
 

Grabbing a rope to leap into the Zumbro RIver off a high limestone cliff known as "Grim" has been a favorite summer pastime of kids and adults for years in Mantorville.
 
But the cliff is eroding and rocks are tumbling into the river, creating danger just below the surface.
 

KMTelecom has received a 2016 matching state grant of just more than $764,000 to serve 195 unserved households, nine unserved businesses, the Mantorville Township building, and a small section of west-central Olmsted County.  
 
It is part of the Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program, which funds the expansion of high-speed broadband Internet service to unserved or underserved areas in Minnesota.
 

Several Triton students received Honorable Mention in the 24th-annual Zumbro Education District’s Creative Writing Contest.
The contest is for students in grades 5-12. This year’s theme: “The Day I Met …”
The students chose how to interpret the prompt, and let their creativity take them away in the form of poetry or prose.
