West Concord issues water boil advisory following pressure drop

West Concord issued a water boil advisory Friday, Jan. 20, after a well pump malfunction resulted in a water pressure drop, necessitating a switch to another well to maintain pressurization.
“Because we lost pressure, its standard procedure to issue a water boil notice,” said city administrator, Theresa Booms.

At a long workshop Dec 20, the Dodge County Commissioners reviewed the budget one more time before their final meeting of the year. The final meeting was Tuesday, at which they approved the increase.

Mark Finstuen recognized for conservation efforts

Mark Finstuen of Milton Township was the recipient of this year’s Dodge District’s “Outstanding Conservationist Award” by the Minnesota Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD). He was presented with the award Dec. 6 at the Doubletree Hotel in St. Cloud.
The Finstuen family, along with their son, Derek, operate an 1,800 acre cash grain crop farm, while also operating a 2,400 sow farrowing operation.
