The Dodge Center City Council approved a resolution that indicates the city’s intent to consider organizing garbage collection. At the council’s previous meeting, members of the council decided that staff should research limiting the number of garbage haulers in Dodge Center.
After 33 years of Country Carpets, the store is undergoing a change in name and a change in owner.
On Oct. 12, Chuck and Erin Hansen sold Kasson business Country Carpets to long-time employee Sean Malloy and his business partner Angie Bowman. And with this sale, the store’s name will change to Midwest Flooring Solutions.
The West Concord City Council has scheduled a public hearing for 6 p.m. on Nov. 17 for affected residents to get more information on the city’s 2017 Utility Improvements Project. The hearing will be held at 207 Main St. to accommodate an expected large turnout.
The Kasson-Mantorville Middle School Technovation Team gave a presentation to the Triton School Board last week explaining an app they developed last year to help young people Stop Sex Trafficking.
West Concord mayoral and city council candidates met the voters last week at a candidate forum sponsored by the West Concord American Legion Auxiliary.
Both mayoral candidates and five of the seven city council candidates were in attendance.
This may officially be Fire Prevention Week but Triton Elementary students got an early look at fire equipment last week as firefighters from the Dodge Center and West Concord Departments visited with students in pre-kindergarten through second grade.
Though the presentations varied depending on the grade level, all of the youngsters got to take an up close and personal look at the Dodge Center Fire Department’s Ladder Truck.
