Ever since she was little, Val Sauder has been attending American Dairy Association banquets and has seen numerous girls crowned as a Dodge County Dairy Princess.
After dreaming of one day being a dairy princess herself, that dream became a reality this year as she was crowned as a Dodge County Dairy Princess along with Katrina Thoe.

It was the end of a journey for one main street business in Kasson on Sunday, as long time business Jimmy’s Pizza closed its doors for business permanently. 
After working at Toros in Windom for 27 years, owner Clark Faux, was looking to open his own business a year and a half ago and thought that Jimmy’s would be a perfect business for him. 

In May Byron Middle Schooler Nathan Noonan was diagnosed with Leukemia. 
Since then the community has shown its support for Noonan and his family in a number of different ways. 
After a successful fundraising baseball game earlier this year, another community fundraiser took place at the Byron American Legion a couple of weeks ago, to help show support for the Noonan family.

Summer can be a difficult time for families who rely on food shelves and/or free and reduced school meals for their daily nutrition. Food shelves generally see a drop in donations during the summer and schools are not in session to provide those needed meals.
For the second summer the Dodge Center Public Library is offering a way to help those individuals in need of food as well as taking care of those overdue library fines.
