200 MILES FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Throughout his life Nate Bailey, of Dodge Center, has ran long distances.
Soon though, Bailey will have his longest race and run of his life, as he gets set to run in a 200-mile race this weekend in Illinois.
Aside from doing something that not many people can say they have done, Bailey will also be helping to raise money for Next Chapter Ministries in Rochester.

THEY'RE SERVIN' IT UP AGAIN

Mantorville Theatre Company (MTC) is servin' it up again at the historic Mantorville Opera House with the sequel Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping! The musical runs April 5 – 28, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There will be no show Easter Sunday, April 21.

Area residents flock to Dodge County Expo

Parking spaces were virtually non-existent Saturday morning as Dodge County residents came to the 21st annual Dodge County Expo.
The yearly event gives local businesses and organizations a chance to meet with residents and show what they have to offer. There is also plenty of food and free entertainment to be enjoyed.

Over the past few years, talking about and seeking mental health support has become much more acceptable in society.
While the majority of people will agree that this is a very good thing, there is one issue that not many people think about.
That issue is the lack of mental health providers, especially in rural areas.

Chaplain Program is huge success in Dodge County

Throughout his career with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Scott Rose always had an interest in bringing a Chaplain Program to Dodge County.
“It was something we realized we were missing here,” Rose said.
A year ago that dream became a reality in Dodge County. Ever since then, it has been a huge help for first responders and community members in Dodge County.

FROM RECEPTIONIST TO OFFICER

If someone had told Mantorville native Wendy Forthun 20 years ago that she would be an officer for a real estate company, she wouldn’t have believed it. Now that’s exactly what as a receptionist,  and as she explained, she never thought that she would able to become a salesperson.
