Summer Art Camps return to the Mantorville Art Guild this year.
Seventeen art programs are scheduled throughout the summer, said the Art Guild’s Theresa Hoaglund.

Human trafficking is a problem even in southeastern Minnesota, members of the St. John’s Lutheran Church women’s group and their guests were told recently.

Over the last few years, Kasson Mantorville High School staff members have noticed an increase of students and families needing things like food, school supplies, and other personal hygiene items.
That’s why after having success of serving about 25 families through the high school food shelf, a group of teachers and staff members will be revamping it and will be opening the KoMet Pantry this fall.

The weather has not been real good to area farmers this spring but local growers are getting their crops in the ground.
Although the May 6 crop report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture said that only six percent of the corn in Minnesota had been planted statewide, the situation is considerably better in Dodge and Steele Counties.

In 1978, Joe Pearson was asked by a friend if he wanted to start and own an appliance shop with him.
Pearson said yes and 41 years later he is continuing to help the Kasson community with its appliance needs through his business P&P Appliances.

It was party time in West Concord last Saturday night as nearly 150 residents and former residents gathered
to celebrate “A Night at the Museum.”
The event was to recognize the 25th anniversary of the West Concord Historical Museum located in the old West Concord school.
Tours of the museum were given during the afternoon followed by a social hour, dinner, entertainment  and a silent auction.
