RED WING — Red Wing kept it close in the opening minutes, then soon fell behind by double digits, as Byron ran away with the game to win, 65-37 on Thursday night, December 14. The Bears pulled ahead 31-14 at the half, following a 21-7 run to close out the first. Causing multiple Winger turnovers, the Bears also extended several possessions with two, sometimes three offensive rebounds.

Wildcat boys win 1, lose 1

Dodge County Wildcats boys hockey team defeated Faribault on Saturday, after dropping their game with Owatonna on Monday.

KoMet football award winners for the 2023 season

Kasson-Mantorville’s football team finished another successful campaign for 2023. Head Coach Joel Swanson distributed awards to the team, and in this writer’s opinion, Coach Swanson deserves tons of accolades as well.

KoMets win in Decorah, head to Christmas tournament

The Kasson-Mantorville KoMets made quick work of their team duals down in Decorah, IA last Thursday night where they competed in a triangular against Decorah and New Hampton, Iowa.
Taking advantage of Iowa’s 14 weight line-up, the KoMets were able to sprinkle 16 different varsity wrestlers between the two match ups.
The KoMets opened up the night against New Hampton, winning 65-3. They then shut out Decorah, 69-0.

Byron gymnasts tumble past Caledonia

On Thursday, December 7, the Byron girls gymnastics team tumbled their way to a win over visiting Caledonia, with a new season high score of 139.175 to 124.325. The girls put together a solid overall performance, with one highlight being all five girls staying on beam.

Dodge County Wildcat boys play 1-1 week

Dodge County was right with Southwest Christian/Richfield through two periods on Thursday night, December 7. Then SWC/Richfield pulled away with a couple of quick goals in the third, en route to a 6-2 win against the Wildcats at Richfield Ice Arena.
