Janice Elaine (Bradshaw) Bennerotte, 87, of Dodge Center, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, at Fairview Care Center.
Janice was born on Jan. 30, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Florence Bradshaw in Pine Island. She attended grade school in Milton Township and high school in Mantorville. 

August Herman Eggert, 87, of West Concord, died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Cottagewood Senior Communities. 
He was born Jan. 18, 1934 in Kasson the son of Herman and Letha (Brown) Eggert. Augie attended school in Kasson but after his family moved later in his high school years, he graduated from West Concord High School.

Kasson residents are remembering Bob Pike, an active community member who died last week at Fairview Care Center. It was just four months ago that his wife, Barb, who had also been well-known in the community died.

As the second Lenten season during the COVID pandemic comes to a close, the traditional Ecumenical Good Friday Service will be virtual.
The annual service is provided by the Kasson Ministerial Association with Pastor.

Absentee ballots are now available to voters in the Byron School District for the May 11 bond election, according to Supt. Dr. Joey Page.
Eligible voters can receive an absentee ballot application by applying at the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website.
Completed ballots can be dropped off or mailed to the Byron School District Office, Attention Anne Ludvigsen, elections clerk, 630 1st Ave. NW, Byron, MN 55920.

Kasson will move forward with restoring the Historic Wall after a group of private citizens raised substantial dollars for the project.
Janet Sinning of the Park and Recreation Commission spearheaded the fundraising, and reports that the group has raised $43,000 toward the $70,000 project. The $68,000 price tag includes repairing the sidewalk and curb adjoining the wall.

Lonnie Zelinske is stepping down from his Kasson City Council member post at the end of June, he announced at a council meeting earlier this month.
Zelinske said his family has bought a home in another community. He’s served on the council for four years.
