Ecumenical Good Friday service goes virtual

As the second Lenten season during the COVID pandemic comes to a close, the traditional Ecumenical Good Friday Service will be virtual.
The annual service is provided by the Kasson Ministerial Association with Pastor.
The service will premier on Facebook and YouTube at 10 a.m. Friday and be available on-demand any time after that. It can be accessed at stjohnskasson.org/worship, facebook.com/stjohnskasson or YouTube.com/stjohnslutheranchurchkasson.
Pastor Dave Efflandt of St. John’s Lutheran Church will be the worship leader.
Seven local pastors will each give a reflection on the Seven Last Words.
Pastors participating with reflections include Pete Wyttenbach, South Zumbro Lutheran Church; Amanda Boss, First Presbyterian Church; Amy Anderson, Community Celebration Church; John Todor, First Baptist Church; Nirmala Reinschmidt, St. John’s Lutheran Church and Jacob Hanson, United Methodist Church.
Musicians participating will include Gloria Gilbertson, organ and piano; Rhianna Hanson, vocalist and Tony Boldt, tuba.
In addition to the Ecumenical Service, area churches will be having their own special Good Friday and Easter Services.
First Baptist Church in Kasson will have a Good Friday Service at 6 p.m. They will have an Easter Sunrise Service at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday followed by breakfast at 9 a.m. and an Easter Worship Service at 10 a.m.
Faith Community Church of West Concord will have a Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. on Friday and their Easter Sunday Celebration at 9:30 a.m. Services will be in-person, in the parking lot on radio and on Facebook.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Kasson will have an Easter Sunday Mass in person and live on Facebook at 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
Zwingli United Church of Christ at Berne will have the video premier of “The Seven Last Words of Jesus” on the church Facebook page at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday services will be at 8 and 10 a.m., in-person with masks and distancing required. Faith Lutheran in Dodge Center will have a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday and a worship service at 9 a.m. Services will be both in-person and online.
Mt. Sion Lutheran (A.F.L.C.) will have Easter morning worship at 10 a.m. and also on the church website at mtsionkasson.org.
Trinity Lutheran in West Concord will live-stream a Maundy Thursday service at noon on their Facebook Page. The Good Friday Service will be a joint worship service with the United Methodist Church, West Concord, at 6 p.m. at the Methodist Church.
Easter Sunday services will be at Trinity at 9:30 a.m. All services are live-streamed on Facebook.
Our Savior Lutheran Church in Kasson will have Maundy Thursday and Good Friday Services at 7:30 p.m. Easter service will be at 9 a.m. Sunday.
St. John’s Lutheran in Kasson will have an online Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. and the online Good Friday Ecumenical Service at 10 a.m.
Easter Sunday service will be in-person and online at 8:30 a.m. and in-person at 11:30 a.m. Registration is requested for the in-person services. There will be a drive-in or on the lawn service, depending on the weather, at 10 a.m.
South Zumbro Lutheran, Kasson, will have a Sunrise Service at 8 a.m. and an Easter service at 10 a.m.
Mt. Moriah Lutheran (LCMS) will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m., Good Friday at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
Dodge Center United Methodist Church will have a Maundy Thursday Service at 6:30 p.m. and a Good Friday Service at 6 p.m. with the West Concord United Methodist Church at West Concord. The Easter Sunday service will be at 8 a.m.
Praise Fellowship Church in Dodge Center will have a Resurrection Celebration Service at 9:30 a.m. This is also the 35th Anniversary Celebration of the church which started on April 6, 1986.
Community Celebration Church in Kasson will have Easter services at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m. Services will be livestreamed at ccc-kasson.org.
