The City of West Concord is accepting quotes for snow removal.  The contract period is from October 15, 2016 through May 1, 2018.
Snow removal will be from Main Street (between East First St. and Second St.), in front of the West Concord Historical Society, the West Concord Liquor Store parking lot and any other area that may be requested.  All bids must include: equipment to be used and the hourly rate.  

The City of West Concord is accepting applications for Refuse Hauling.  An application for licensing maybe attained from the City Administrator’s office. The license period will be 10/1/16 until 9/30/18.  Applications are due at the West Concord Government Center on or before 4:00 p.m. September 15, 2016.

Robert “Bob” Paul Seifert, 54, passed away on Aug. 25, 2016, after losing his battle with alcoholism Bob Seifert was born and raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin on Oct. 1, 1961. He was the youngest of five children and the only son of Robert Leo Seifert and Regina Margaret (Powell) Seifert.

That was Head soccer coach Bob Waypa’s expression when his No.15 ranked Huskies battled 1AA opponent Lakeville North on a rainy Saturday in Lakeville to a 0-0 tie. 
The tie comes just days after losing their season opening match up to Burnsville on Thursday night 4-3. 
Head coach Bob Waypa noted that previous matchups greatly impacted their game plan for the contest. 

Former Dodge County Administrator Jim Elmquist could be returning to the job he left last spring.
At Tuesday’s County Board meeting commissioners unanimously approved a motion authorizing Gary Weiers to “pursue discussions with Jim Elmquist to return to Dodge County as the county administrator.” Elmquist confirmed Wednesday that he had been involved in “discussions” about returning to the administrator position.

While being outdoors covering a news assignment this week, I had an unusual occurrence that has never happened before. It’s something that probably could have landed on America’s Funniest Videos.
As I was taking photos of a polka band, I felt a sensation on my leg. At first, I didn’t think much of it as I’ve dealt with pesky bugs, mosquitoes and flies before. But the extra sensitivity continued.

Though the most serious charge won’t be filed, a top prosecutor alleges a man’s decision to drink and drive was a significant factor in a little boy’s death while he innocently played in his wagon.

From an overall standpoint, the Kasson-Mantorville girls soccer team had a terrific season last year. They captured the HVL championship after toppling their rival Rochester Lourdes in mid-October and earned the top seed in the Section 1AA tournament.
