Farmington- The Owatonna High School boys’ soccer team has been the proverbial giant killers all season long, playing its best games against some of Minnesota’s best teams. They have also notably struggled when playing on field turf. 

The embattled feedlot controversy involving Blooming Prairie area farmers is gaining more momentum as a coalition of the nation’s leading environmental, public health and animal protection groups have joined the legal fight.

In their fifth year of working to make sure more people in the world have access to clean water, Community Celebration Church recently reached $44,000 raised to install wells in other countries.

It likely comes as no surprise to most that there is a lot of brokenness going on in our families these days.
It seems like there is something lurking around every corner that tries to destroy our family system.

Election Day is right around the corner, and if you are like my wife Rosie, the end can’t come soon enough.  While I’m somewhat of a political junkie and enjoy watching the process, I am also tiring of the nation coverage and ready to move on.  Fortunately we aren’t in an election year here at the sheriff’s office so we can focus on 2017 and beyond. 

The cross country season becomes a grind this time of year and the Kasson-Mantorville/Triton cross country team is trying to push themselves to literally make a run in the HVL Conference and section meets with hopes that they can make a state meet appearance next month.

In two of the past three games, the Kasson-Mantorville football team has seen a fourth quarter rally by their opponents that have made them sweat late in games. While Byron and Stewartville had all the fun of attempting to execute a fourth-quarter comeback, it might have been a little more enjoyable for the KoMets to be the team mounting the rally last week when they scored 15 fourth-quarter points in a 15-6 victory over Cannon Falls.

West Concord mayoral and city council candidates met the voters last week at a candidate forum sponsored by the West Concord American Legion Auxiliary.
Both mayoral candidates and five of the seven city council candidates were in attendance. 

Harvest season is one of the busiest times of the year for farmers. In order to show appreciation for the work that farmers do, a group of Kasson-Mantorville FFA students took to the fields to help the farmers during this time.
