After losing their first match to Dover-Eyota, the Byron wrestling team bounced back by beating Westfield and WEM/JWP to claim second place at the Dave Scharberg Memorial Invite on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Head Coach Ryan Radke was pleased with how his team came together after a slow start.
“We wrestled well as a team. We had moments where we looked a bit flat but got better as the day went on,” he said.

Dental professionals from Children’s Dental Health Services in Rochester were at the Triton Elementary School earlier this month for a school dental clinic.
The all-day clinic provided dental check-ups, teeth cleanings and oral hygiene information, said Tess Ogren of Triton Elementary.

Savanna Cordle of Kasson was recently crowned the Miss Minnesota Collegiate America 2020 and will represent Minnesota at the national pageant in June in Little Rock, Ark.
Cordle is currently a senior at Waldorf University studying business management and marketing with minors in communications and Spanish.

Randy Dean Matejcek, 55, formerly of Owatonna, died at his home in Crosby, Minn., Nov. 3, 2019.
He was born to Burgess and Junita Matejcek in Owatonna on Aug. 25, 1964. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1983. Machinist by trade, he worked at many manufacturing plants in Minnesota.
He was a Harley enthusiast and loved riding and being with friends.

Martin L. Dengler, 75, of West
Concord, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 in Dodge Center.
He was born Nov. 26, 1944 in Rochester, the son of Leo and Mil- dred (Dallman) Dengler. Martin attended school in West Concord. On March 31, 1965, he entered the United States Navy and on Jan.
12, 1968 he was honorably discharged. On Feb. 15, 1969, he was united in mar- riage to Ardis Finne in West Concord.
