LaVonne ‘Bonnie’ Glarner, 81, West Concord

LaVonne “Bonnie” Jean Glarner, age 81 of West Concord (Berne), MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 17, 2021. She passed due to complications of COPD and Broken Heart Syndrome after the recent passing of her beloved husband Kerry, 16 days prior.

Eunice Eloise Sackett, 99, Dodge Center

Eunice Eloise Sackett, 99, of Dodge Center passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.
Eunice was born on Feb. 4, 1921 in Dodge County, to Edward and Beatrice (Beldon) Sackett. She worked at Triton Public Schools in the library. She loved all the Triton students and always treated them with little gifts. She was very well liked in her community. 

Curtis ‘Curt’ R. Frisk, 67, Dodge Center

Curtis “Curt” R. Frisk, 67, of Dodge Center and formerly of Byron and New Richland, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Methodist Campus in Rochester.
Curt was born in Waseca, on August 7, 1953 to Richard and Isabel (Stennes) Frisk. He was baptized through Trinity Lutheran Church at home on the farm near New Richland due to the polio outbreak.  

Claude Dale Stafford, 89, Dodge Center

Claude Dale Stafford, 89, of Dodge Center, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Dodge Center  surrounded by his loving family.

Chester (Jerry) Louks, departed this earth Jan. 25, 2021.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday Jan. 29, 2021 at the Brick Meger Funeral Home, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Steele County Funeral Unit. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the funeral service starting at 10 a.m.

KoMets outscore opponents at home 185-36

Last week was a busy week at home for the KM wrestlers. They secured three solid wins and outscored their opponents 185-36.  
The KoMet’s home opener was meant to be a triangular with Stewartville and Pine Island. As this year would have it with the every changing schedules, Pine Island needed to postpone their match up due to a COVID-19 concern.   

Wildcat girls win; boys’ team defeated

Both the boys’ and girls’ Dodge County Wildcats were in action Saturday night, with the girls’ team chalking up a win and the boys’ team losing their game.
The girls’ team to Riverside Ice Arena in Moose Lake where they defeated the Moose Lake Area Rebels by a 5-1 score.
Dodge County scored twice in the first period, twice in the second and once in the third period. Moose Lake got their only score in the first period.

35-year-old Kasson eye care practice changes hands

Dr. Christine Leska has sold her Kasson Eye Care practice to Dr. Courtney Sivertson and Dr. Jeff Anderson, who have renamed the practice Lifetime Eye Care.
The sale was completed on Dec. 31, and the practice’s three staff will stay on. Leska will remain as a practicing physician and collaborate with Sivertson and Anderson in serving the firm’s nearly 3,000 area customers.

Hayfield teen dies in crash on way to school

Funeral services were held Monday for a 16-year-old Hayfield High School student who died Jan. 20, in a crash involving her vehicle and a semi-truck.
