Hearing aids can reduce risk of cognitive decline

Using hearing aids can slow cognitive decline in older adults with hearing loss who are also at risk for memory and thinking problems, according to recent research.
A large clinical trial found that for older adults at risk of cognitive issues, using hearing aids for three years cut their rates of cognitive decline in half.

Forgivable housing rehab loans/grants available to Kasson homeowner

The City of Kasson, in partnership with the Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCHRA), received $450,000 in Small Cities Development Program Funding (SCDP) that provides funding for owner-occupied residential rehabilitation projects.

Several younger members of Venom Girls Softball presented a card to West Concord resident Kathy Wilmes at the Guns vs. Hoses softball game last week. The card was to thank Wilmes for a donation to assist the Venom High School Green Team during their season. Services for Jeff Knudsen

The funeral service for Jeff Knudsen will be held Friday, July 14, at the Concord Church of Christ, 5508 200th Ave., West Concord. Burial will be held at the Old Concord Cemetery with military honors.
Luncheon to follow in the Concord Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. All friends who knew and loved Jeff are invited to attend.
Visitation starts at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.
