Forgivable housing rehab loans/grants available to Kasson homeowner

The City of Kasson, in partnership with the Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCHRA), received $450,000 in Small Cities Development Program Funding (SCDP) that provides funding for owner-occupied residential rehabilitation projects. The funding is available to residents in a targeted area of Kasson and can assist with projects including new roofs, windows, siding, furnaces, electrical and plumbing upgrades, bathroom improvements and more.
Financing for the owner-occupied housing rehab activity is in the form of a $25,000 10-year deferred/forgivable loan/grant. Qualified homeowners will be served on a first come, first serve basis.
Qualified owner-occupied residents who meet established 2023 income limits are:
1 person — $66,100; 2 people — $75,550; 3 people — $85,000; 4 people — $94,400; 5 people — $102,000; 6+ please call) are eligible to receive assistance for necessary repairs to their home. Eligible improvements also include health and safety, energy efficiency, and accessibility improvements.
