Hayfield’s Natalie Beaver and Kristen Watson were chosen to participate in the Minnesota Girls Basketball All-Star Series that was held at Carleton College on Saturday, April 6. They take the top 40 seniors from across the state to participate and form four teams. Natalie and Kristen played in the second game against each other.

MENOMONIE, Wis. — Byron’s track and field teams opened their season at the Northern Badger Classic-UW-Stout Sports & Fitness Center, Indoor Meet in Menomonie, Wis., on Saturday, March 23. It was a 3rd Place finish for both boys and girls Byron teams, at the 32-team meet.

“It’s all weather based,” said Mike Hasley, head golf professional at The Oaks Golf Club in HayfieLd, on Sunday afternoon. “Today we’re very busy. But the weather has been good. Traffic has been good. When it’s cold … we’ve had days where we haven’t had any players.”

ROCHESTER — As always, Wildcats net-minder Jackson Roethler did a yeoman’s job of protecting his goal, but the No. 8-ranked Northfield Raiders did just enough to top Dodge County in the Section 1, Class 1A boys hockey title game on Wednesday, February 28, at the Rochester Recreation Center.

BYRON — The top-seed Byron girls basketball team made it a no-contest last Wednesday, February 28, as they finished off the Faribault Falcons, 69-41, in Class 3A, Section 1 opening round action at Byron High School.
