Having to open the season with Farmington, Minneapolis and Lakeville South can certainly test just were a team is at.
That was the case for Owatonna, but head coach Dan Paur noted that those are the matchups they want despite the outcomes.
Friday night at OHS, the Huskies managed to get into the win column in a big way.

I’m not sure we as fans could have been more blessed with the absolute chaos that is currently ensuing for arguably the most sentimental championship trophy in all of sports.

That may be so. I think we’ve had some pioneers in  the family. But were they truly  primogenitors?
 
Somehow, that just doesn’t sound right.
 
Anyway, we keep occasionally practicing at the country living thing.

As the defending Big Nine Conference champions, there is almost no weaknesses on the Owatonna boys track and field team.
A case can be made however, that the strength, if not figuratively then literally, lies with those who exert their power in a sport that dates back to 776 B.C. in ancient Greece.

After a 3-0 win over Mankato East at U.S. Bank Stadium last Friday, the Owatonna High School baseball team looked to make it two in a row as they played host to Mankato West.
After the first inning, a combine five runs were scored with Owatonna holding a slim 3-2 edge. After two, the Scarlets managed to regain a 4-3 lead as they started to get a beat on Huskies starting pitcher Jacob Gauthier.

We wait all winter long for a sign of spring.  Then the first robin is spotted.  Then a dandelion.  Coats become lighter and sometimes even optional.  It truly is springtime.
  It’s a time of renewal.  People spring clean.  Lawns are raked.  Gardens are tilled. Spring offers a promise of warm days ahead.  This is something that we might take for granted.  It just happens and we don’t think too much about it.
