Boys hockey team wins 2, girls go 1-1

Both the Dodge County girls and boys Wildcat hockey teams were on the ice last week with the boys team winning two games while the girls split at 1-1.
The boys went against Simley at home on Tuesday, Feb. 2, coming away with a 6-4 victory.
It was a busy first period as the Wildcats scored first at 0:15 with a goal by Brendon Wolesky and again at 3:07 with a goal by Brody Lamb.

Byron school board OKs May 11 bond referendum

Byron voters will be going to the polls on May 11 to decide the fate of a two-question bond referendum that totals more than $40 million.
The school board approved the referendum and the election date at a special meeting on Monday night.

Sheriff’s office releases name of Mantorville fire victim

Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose has released the name of the individual who died in a fire this morning at the Chestnut Apartments in Mantorville.
“As of 4:50 p.m. today we have one confirmed fatality from the apartment building fire this morning. Our victim, 68-year-old Cynthia Ferguson, lived in apartment #11. Cause of death is unknown at this time.
