At the beginning of the season, first-year Triton boys basketball coach Zak Hanegraaf had a dilemma. Due to fall activities or injuries sustained in the first week of practice, three of his players that he had been counting on for minutes sustained injuries that would keep them out for the season.

The Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team earned their second consecutive HVL championship when they defeated Goodhue in the conference championship game on February 20. The win also gave the KoMets their second straight undefeated season in the HVL with a perfect 17-0 record.

A week ago, the Kasson-Mantorville wrestling team punched their ticket to the state tournament. With their victory over Albert Lea in the section championship, there was already going to be some KoMet pride in attendance when the team duals take place on Thursday morning.
However, this team has proven that they aren’t there just to take one trophy. They want to take the whole table with them.

The effects of hunger for an individual or family can range from poor health and slowed recovery from injury or illness to poor performance at school or work.  During 2015, Semcac Food Shelves in Rushford, Preston, Caledonia and Kasson had 8,215 visits from 1,388 households and distributed 378,046 pounds of food. Clients are also provided with information and referral to other community services.  

West Concord City Council members have agreed to set the wheels in motion to organize a task force of community members to consider the issues around a community center and the futures of both the current American Legion Hall and the former hardware store.

“I love sleep. My life has a tendency to fall apart when I’m awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway once said. 
It appears Hemingway wasn’t the only one who found value in sleep. Minnesotans also like to catch their Zzzzz’s. And now we’re being labeled as some of the best sleepers in the country.

The Claremont Township Board Annual Meeting and Election will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the American Legion Hall in Claremont, MN.
The annual meeting will commence at 3:00 p.m. before the election. 
Polls will be open following the meeting or no later than 5 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing:
One (1) Supervisor for (3) years
One (1) Clerk for (2) years
