Virginia Busho, age 90, of Ellendale passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna from complications of congestive heart failure.

Fire claims life of Kasson woman

Fire Update: Police identify fire victim
 
Police have identified the victim of Friday’s house fire in Kasson as Michelle Loge, 41. 
Kasson Police Chief Ken Schuck said there is no reason to believe foul play had anything to do with Loge’s death. Though an autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death, Schuck said Loge died as a result of her injuries sustained in the fire. 

History comes alive for K-M students

History came alive last Friday for ninth and 10th grade students at Kasson-Mantorville High School as they participated in the annual “History Day” events.
Described as similar to a science fair, the freshmen and sophomore students have spent the first semester researching a historical topic of their own choice and the first part of the second semester in preparing a presentation for a group of judges.

Virginia Elaine Durst, 94, of Pine Island

Virginia Elaine Durst, 94, died of natural causes on Feb. 9, 2016 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, Minnesota.
Virginia was born on Nov. 27, 1921 in Pine Island, Minnesota. She grew up on the Egger family farm in Milton township in rural Pine Island.

Kasson preservation group ‘bombs’ historic buildings with Valentines

If you noticed a group of people running around Kasson last Saturday taping Valentines on buildings don’t worry; they had not been out in the cold too long.
They were members and friends of Kasson Alliance for Restoration, KARE, out “heart bombing” the buildings. Think photo bombing with hearts is how they described it on their Facebook page.

K-M/Triton finishes strong in section meet

The Kasson-Mantorville/Triton gymnastics team enjoyed a banner year as they set team records and won its first meet during the third year of the co-op between the two schools. As they continued to improve, they saw their scores rise on a weekly basis and laid a solid foundation going forward.

KoMettes heavily decorated at end of season

The K-M dance team finished up a tremendous season last week as they  became the HVL section champs in Jazz routine.
