The future of the West Concord Public Charter School now rests with parents of current and future students.
After a motion to close the school failed on a 3-2 vote, School Board members agreed to make a final attempt to increase the student population and to make a final decision after an informational meeting on May 24.

On April 24 through the 26 Triton FFA attended the 87th annual Minnesota State convention. Our chapter had 28 students along with three chaperones attend. The students competed in various Career Development Events such as: Best informed greenhand, Creed speaking, Horse evaluation, Livestock evaluation, Extemp speaking, Dairy handling, Fish and wildlife, Dairy foods, Chorus, Band, Star in agribusiness, Star farmer, and State degree.

She may be in her first year in the Triton High School FFA but already Martha Moenning is well on her way to accomplishing her FFA goals.
Moenning won the first place in the state Creed Speaking contest in April and this coming fall will be headed to the national FFA Convention to compete in the national contest.

A serious financial shortfall is causing West Concord Public Charter School to look at all areas of the program.
At two meetings last week the board members agreed that to remain viable for the next school year the school must revert to a kindergarten through fifth grade format. Board members also decided not to renew the contract of Director Nicole Musolf, opting instead to go with a part-time director who is also a teacher.

Triton kindergarten students learned about nature recently with some help from the Triton High School Environmental Science class.
The four kindergarten classes met with the older students on two days as they studied about the environment and Earth Day. Wednesday was spent in the classroom where they made posters.

Triton kindergarten students were spending time with S.T.E.M. (Science, technology, engineering and math) concepts last week and doing so in a fun manner.
For two hours Friday afternoon the students rotated through four different project areas, each one led by one of the kindergarten teachers.
