Throughout their high school career, there are some moments that will stick through a player’s mind forever. Sometimes it can be something as simple as a rivalry trophy that’s defended through everything that they have or it’s wanting to win a game for their coach who has spent the time and energy making sure that they grow on and off the field.

Coming into the season, many thought that the Triton volleyball team would be one that was looking to rebuild. With nine new starters on the court, many assumed that the Cobras wouldn’t be able to keep up in a highly competitive Hiawatha Valley League.
However, things were different last week when the Cobras picked up their first conference win since the 2014 season when they defeated Pine Island in five games on September 13.

One week after showing laser-like precision against La Crescent, it would have been understandable if the KoMets had felt like a game against a struggling opponent would be a breeze to get to a showdown with Stewartville this Friday.

Cobras continue to see growth

The Triton volleyball team is beginning to see some growth as it picked up its first victories of the season last week with a victory against Waseca and a solid showing in the Irondale Tournament last weekend. Such victories are a crucial part of a young team that lacks experience, but has tremendous talent.
