KoMets youth team wins Youth 1st Sportsmanship Award

The Owatonna Huskies Bullpen Club in partnership with Youth 1st, The Walser Foundation, Federated Insurance, Jostens, Pearson, Cashwise, Bennerotte & Associates and the Minnesota Twins Community Fund have selected the Mantorville KoMets Baseball Team as the recipient of a Youth 1st Team Award for their outstanding sportsmanship during the 2017 Owatonna Tournament.

K-M softball duo plays in "Sizzler" All-Star Game

In Minnesota, the softball season can be one filled with wet and cold weather as teams try to hack it out over a two month period to gure out which team is the best in the state. Because of the post-ponements and quick nature of games, the softball season seems to fly by in the spring and most of the refinements of a player’s game takes place over the summer months.

Racing returns Chateau Speedway after rain-soaked hiatus

The weather was perfect for racing on Friday night at Chateau Raceway in Lansing and the racing was as spectacular as the reworks that capped off the night. After three straight weeks of rainouts, Mother Nature allowed the season to resume.

Knoll shines at All-Star Series

Throughout the course of his senior season, Kasson- Mantorville baseball player Brendan Knoll has been a leader on and off the field. 
 
As a four-year starter, he’s been able to help some of the younger players adapt to playing baseball at the varsity level while backing his experience up by becoming one of the top pitchers and outfielders in the state.
 

Ryan helps Minnesota Blue capture National Freestyle Wrestling title

Former Kasson-Mantorville wrestler Noah Ryan helped the Minnesota Blue team win the Freestyle championship at the Junior National Duals in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 24. The recently graduated senior joined a star-studded lineup that included several other elite wrestlers from around the state.
 

K-M’s Knoll to play in All-Star Series this weekend

The 43rd Annual Play Ball! Minnesota High School Baseball All-Star Series will be held at Chaska Athletic Park June 23 and 24 at Chaska Athletic Park.
The tournament is presented by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association, Play Ball! Minnesota, BiG Athletics, and Cambria.

Maloney’s mindset leads to solid appearance in state meet

There are few sports that require the amount of mental toughness needed to succeed than the game of golf. With most of the top golfers in Minnesota at the state meet in Jordan last week, that mental toughness was something that Triton golfer Shelby Maloney was going to need in her first appearance at the event.
