Hungry for a tasty, juicy hot dog?
When traveling on Highway 218 just south of Main Street, stop by one of Blooming Prairie’s newest businesses. It’s called Dogs on the Run and in actuality, it is a mobile hot dog stand positioned in front of the Speedy Wash & Pet Spaw.

It is a miracle Molly Riese is alive. On Feb. 6, Molly’s life changed forever after she was severely injured in a car crash. 
Despite all the broken bones, surgeries and hours of physical therapy she wants to make sure people know the positive part of her story rather than just the negative. 

A large number of West Concord residents turned out for National Night Out festivities at Memorial Park last week.

With the 2015 growing season heading towards the final stretch, farmers and agriculture officials agree that crop growth in southern Minnesota is ahead of last year.
The United States Department of Agriculture, which reports crop progress throughout the country on a weekly basis, said last week that both corn and soybeans growth was ahead of last year’s average and the five-year average.

The Blooming Prairie Public Utilities department has a new home, and the space will be a vast improvement from the department’s former, cramped quarters. 
 “We felt like we needed a new office for quite some time,” said Public Utilities Director Rick Kittelson. 

Most Awesome Blossom football fans expect the 2015 season to be one of rebuilding. But don’t tell the players that. After participating in a camp at Southwest State University and practicing in captains’ practice last week, the team is enthused about football and the prospects for the upcoming season.

Rumbling, gigantic construction equipment continues to make a change in the complexion of downtown Blooming Prairie these days as Main Street reconstruction continues east and west of Highway 218.
Many Blooming Prairie locals have expressed amazement at the number of huge pieces of construction equipment that have been moving dirt, bituminous and concrete over the past several weeks.

Vandal’s Family Market had an excellent turnout for their Grand Re-Opening celebration, as many community members stopped by to congratulate them and wish them continued success. 

For the third year in a row, Blooming Prairie will be the site of a moving display that’s captured the attention – and support – of the local community.
