Vandal’s Family Market celebrates Grand Re-Opening

Vandal’s Family Market had an excellent turnout for their Grand Re-Opening celebration, as many community members stopped by to congratulate them and wish them continued success. 
That afternoon, storeowners Waco Vandal, Brandy Vandal-Holmberg, Brady Holmberg welcomed customers, family and friends to the event, which featured ribs, hot dogs and root beer floats, in addition to great in-store deals and even an inflatable bouncy house for the kids in attendance. 
The celebration doubled as both a customer appreciation event and an anniversary celebration for the storeowners, who have now been operating the business for one year. The trio took over the business when Brandy and Waco’s father, Allen, retired. Allen, along with many other family members, stopped by the market on Saturday to take part in the celebration. 
Allen was quick to note that he doesn’t have much to do with store operations any more, but says it’s been nice to see the next generation carry on the values that drive the business. The three owners work hard to offer high quality foods for reasonable prices and enjoy helping support local producers and other area businesses. They even make deliveries to help those in need. “They are doing really well,” Allen Vandal said. 
Also attending the celebration was Ari Holmberg, Brandy’s daughter. Ari, a former store employee, was helping serve root beer floats, with help from her fiancé Steven Pregler. The weather was ideal for ice cream on Saturday, with temperatures in the mid to high 80s and plenty of sunshine. As a result, the line for the root beer floats was long.  
Around noon, members of the Blooming Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce formally commemorated the occasion with a ribbon cutting outside the market. Although the three storeowners had plenty to do that afternoon, they also took time to thank Chamber members for stopping by and also attempted to say “thanks” to as many other visitors as possible. 
Brady, Brandy and Waco agree that it has been an honor to serve the community for the past year and are looking forward to continuing to build relationships with more local customers in the months and years to come.
