Daryl Howard Madson, 86 of Kasson, died Thursday, Sept. 8, at Golden Living West in Rochester. 
He was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Canton Township, Fillmore County, Minn., to Howard and Anna (Morem) Madson. After moving to Austin in 1942, Daryl graduated from Austin High School in 1948.  

Iva A. (Chilson) King, 91, of Byron died Saturday, September, 10, 2016, at Madonna Towers in Rochester.
Iva was born August, 16, 1925, in rural Olmsted County. She was baptized at the Byron United Methodist Church with her Mother. 

Robert Clark Hilliard, 96, died on Sept. 5, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital. 

Arlene Christenson, 90, died Sept. 7, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, where she had stayed for nearly two weeks. 
Arlene was born Feb. 7, 1926, in rural Steele County to Martin and Mollie Wiek. She was baptized and confirmed in Aurora Lutheran Church in Havana Township near Owatonna. In 1943, she graduated from Owatonna High School. 

Dodge County residents will get their chance for a behind-the-scenes look at the newly renovated Courthouse and Annex and Government Services Building from noon to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.

While the Dodge County community enjoys the annual tradition that The Big Iron Classic has become, the event brings truck drivers from all over the country to town. Everyone who comes to the weekend festivities at the Dodge County Fairgrounds has their own reason for coming back every year.
 

The Triton volleyball team is beginning to see some growth as it picked up its first victories of the season last week with a victory against Waseca and a solid showing in the Irondale Tournament last weekend. Such victories are a crucial part of a young team that lacks experience, but has tremendous talent.

When it comes to sports, the figures that everybody will remember at the end of the day are wins and losses. However, the world of sports can offer so much more when a community comes together and supports a great cause.

One of the biggest microcosims of last season’s Kasson-Mantorville football team was when they took a trip on a rainy Friday night to take on La Crescent. As the rain came down, the KoMets made several mistakes during the game and couldn’t find a way to make the explosive plays needed to take out the Lancers in a 21-13 defeat.
