Youth Art Month display open  at Mantorville Art Guild

March is Youth Art Month, and the Mantorville Art Guild will hold its annual Youth Art Show to honor student artists in local schools.
Their work will be on display until March 29 at the Art Guild in Mantorville. Works from art students in grades K-12 at Kasson-Mantorville, Hayfield, Byron and Blooming Prairie are included. Entries were chosen by each school’s art teacher.
A reception will be held Saturday, March 7, 1-3 p.m., at the Art Guild, 521 N. Main St., Mantorville.
The exhibit may be viewed during regular gallery hours. The gallery is open March 1 to Oct. 31 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 
5 p.m.
Winter hours, Nov. 1 to Feb. 28 are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. The Guild is closed from Dec. 25 to Jan. 29 for new art installation.
Youth Art Month is an annual national observance held every March to celebrate, advocate for, and emphasize the value of quality visual art education for K-12 students. It was originally established in 1961 as Children’s Art Month and expanded in 1969 to include all youth.
