Then & Now

Voters from Kasson and Mantorville held a special election in April 1956 to decide if they were going to build a new school building in the amount of $900,000. It passed by a margin of 629 — 188. Kasson residents voted 475 — 114 in favor and Mantorville residents voted 154 — 74 in favor. The dedication of the new K-M school building was held on April 27, 1958. There have been additions to the present building in 1989 and in 2014-15. (Articles are from the DCI newspaper archives.)
