Thankful for new opportunities even if it means a poke
All my life I have been challenged to do new things.
Whether it was trying new sports in high school, learning new skills in college or taking challenging courses, or starting my career halfway across the country, I always have tried to accept different challenges, and tried new things.
Last week on Thanksgiving once again I was challenged to try something that I never would have thought I would have done and that was donating blood.
One of if not my biggest fears in life is needles. Ever since I was little, I have been scared of getting shots and that isn’t any different now.
But I was challenged to try it and once again I got outside of my comfort zone and tried something new.
The main reason why I decided to donate blood is because I know how important it is for people who need it for different medical reasons and how it is very crucial that people donate blood in order for there not to be a shortage of it.
While I was extremely scared the whole time and even was on the verge of passing out, I felt good after that I did something extremely important on Thanksgiving.
Later that night I also had the chance to try a new experience and that was Black Friday Shopping on actual Thanksgiving night.
I have been to some of the biggest events in the entire world, but the amount of people that I saw at the stores and lines were something that was very overwhelming to say the least.
Nonetheless even with a lot of anxiety of being trampled on like you see on the news, I decided to go out with some of my favorite people and experienced the adventure it was.
I’m glad to say I was able to survive and live to tell the tails of my adventures of Thanksgiving.
In the next few weeks I know that I will have the chance to experience new things as well as I get to cover different important
local events for the first time including the different community Christmas events this weekend.
I am very much looking forward to it.
